At the Academic Startups Award 2022, co-organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), LQUOM received the Early Edge Award.
LQUOM, aiming to bring a more convenient future with the quantum internet, is developing quantum transponder hardware for long-distance quantum communication.
LQUOM has technologies such as quantum entangled light sources and quantum memory, which are used to create quantum transponders. The award was given in recognition of the high expectations for further growth due to the social and public nature of a domestically produced quantum communication system when it is realized.
With support from OXIDE Corporation, a leading manufacturer of optical single crystals and devices that form the core of quantum communication technology utilizing light, LQUOM is accelerating the societal implementation of long-distance quantum communication and the quantum internet.
